Mitsubishi Ductless Mini Splits in St. Augustine, FL
If you have a room or office area without normal ducting installed, then you will appreciate this information as ductless heating and cooling systems are more reliable, efficient and quieter than ever before.
A Ductless System Explained.
The most common system we install in Florida homes is called a split system. With a split system, the air conditioner or heat pump is located outside the home, and inside you’ll find an indoor coil (air handler or fan coil). Metal refrigerant lines go from the air conditioner outside, to the indoor coil. The fan motor pulls air from the home, forcing it through the chilled coil, and then pushes it back into the home via ductwork.
With a ductless air conditioning system, it is still a split system, but slightly modified. The outside unit (point 1 to the right) is either an air conditioner or heat pump, and it isn’t as large as a normal unit. The indoor portion (point 2 to the right) contains the coil, and a small fan motor used to circulate air.
